H. Alper Tokel received his B.Sc degree with honors in electrical and electronics engineering in 2011 from Middle East Technical University (METU), Ankara, Turkey, and his M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering and information technology in 2014 from RWTH Aachen University, Germany, both with specialization in telecommunications. Since September 2014, he has been a research assistant at the Institute for Theoretical Information Technology at RWTH Aachen, where he is currently working towards the Ph.D. degree. He has been the recipient of DAAD-TEV Master's Degree Scholarship and the Best Paper Award at the 26th International Telecommunication Networks and Applications Conference. His research interests include integrated planning, optimization, and simulation of communication and power systems for future energy grids, machine learning and data analytics with applications in power systems and communication networks.
