Field of activity
Markus Schumacher is working on dynamic simulations of energy systems at district level. In this context an integrative approach considering both electrical and thermal energy supply is applied. A special focus lies on local balancing of energy supply and demand. To meet this challenge the use of distributed plants with ICT enabled, intelligent control strategies is investigated.
Vita
Markus Schumacher studied industrial engineering at RWTH Aachen University with focus on energy technology and energy economics. During his studies he worked in the fields of internal combustion engines and gas fired power plants. After graduation in 2012 he joined the Institute for Energy Efficient Buildings and Indoor Climate (ECB) as a research associate.
