Field of activity

His research interests include optimization and machine learning techniques for the smart grids and big data analysis. His experience includes the design of statistical frameworks to assess the impact of communication impairments on the performance of distributed power loss minimization techniques. Moreover, he worked on the definition of optimized market models for the real time energy trade in the presence of small scale distributed energy producers. Recently, his interest shifted towards the design of deep-learning based models for the forecasting of multivariate time series and the design of reinforcement-learning based models for the optimal self-organization of small-scale and distributed energy producers’ operation.

Riccardo Bonetto (IEEE S’14–M’16) received the Bachelor’s, and Master’s degrees in computer engineering from the University of Padova, Padova, Italy, in 2008 and 2011, respectively. In 2015, he received the Ph.D. degree in Information Technology from the same University. In 2014, he was a Visiting Ph.D. Student at the Automatic Controls Lab. of the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm, Sweden. He has been a Postdoctoral Associate with the University of Padova, from 2015 to 2017. Since 2018, he is a Postdoctoral Associate at the Deutsche Telekom Chair of Communication Networks of the Technische Universität Dresden.
